ALBUMS

(External links now open in new window.)
When I’ve mastered the technicalities of adding downloadable versions of the albums you’ll be able to help yourself to some MP3s here, but meanwhile you can listen to them from Reverbnation or from Soundcloud, (which is the faster site) though I managed to load them on Soundcloud in reverse order. (The Reverbnation tracks also include – at the end – three tracks from 1964 by Trendsetters Ltd.) You should also find both albums on Spotify. If you don’t want to go off piste, however, you’ll have to make do with these quite exciting sleeve-notes.
I’ve also restored the link to two very crackly tracks recorded by my late big brother, Stan Kirtley, in New York City in April 1944, while he was en route from being an RAF flying instructor in the US to joining his Fighter Command squadron. They were salvaged from an old 78 rpm record that had lost quite a bit of its shellac, but I think the playing’s remarkable and certainly at a faster pace than I’ve ever been able to manage. You’ll find them by clicking on Soundcloud.
You’ll also find a couple of links to some other masterpieces in Discography and a few videos by clicking on the YouTube button on the right of this page, plus there’s another video of my self-isolating version of Dave Frishberg’s “I’m Hip” which you can watch on YouTube.
